Earl Krushelnicki CFUR 88.7 FM in Prince George

Earl Krushelnicki "Blues Underground is all about drawing new people to blues music. The program is hosted by Earl Krushelnicki and is heard every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on CFUR 88.7 fm in Prince George. Krushelnicki believes that Blues music is not really what it is often made out to be. " Most people think Blues is sad, slow music. However, Blues music is basically the music people got together and played to help them forget about the stress of work.in a sense it is party music. Weekend music..Music that gets you up to dance." The set lists from Blues Underground tend to focus mainly on performers in the Canadian Blues Scene. Although Earl very much enjoys radio he hates butchering artist names and wishes phonetic spelling was included in the liner notes. His set-lists and links to many Canadian Blues artists can be found at www.bluesnorth.com

It is evident that Krushelnicki is just as excited about lesser known acts as the full blown super stars. Besides being involved in community radio Earl founded the Blues Underground Network in Prince George. This is a non-profit society in which the members raise money by having dances and concerts featuring Blues Performers. Money raised is used to assist young Canadian musicians in developing not only their musical skills but also business and marketing skills. This society started about one year ago and now has over 130 members. They found that once people hear the music, they keep coming back for more.
