Laura Wiebe TaylorKill Eat Exploit the Weak is a show that perfectly pleases both Metal-heads and Vegans. This unique mix of heavy music and animal activism is heard every other Saturday at 11:00 PM � 2:00 AM at CKMS 100.3 FM in Waterloo. Laura Wiebe Taylor has been hosting this show for the past 7 years and has recently been joined by her husband on-air. They now co-host together and talk informally about metal music, concerts they've attended, animal activism, veganism, wildlife protection and the environment. They even have various slogans that describe their unique format such as "Metal for Vegans" and "The Show Not Tested on Animals."

In addition to metal they play a little industrial, punk, goth, and the odd selection that doesn't make much sense but they want to play anyway. They especially enjoy the music of Devin Townsend , Katatonia , Nightingale , Dead of Winter and Rapture . They have also had several bands performing live-to-air during their show like Seething , Nakatheral , At the Mercy of Inspiration and Vegasphere . Specialty shows such as artist biographies and women in metal are also often heard. Laura believes her show is essential to campus radio because "The bands I play rarely, if ever, make it onto commercial channels � and most are from outside of the dominant US market, so a show like ours is one of the few places people can hear them without actively searching them out. The viewpoints we generally highlight about humans' relationships with animals and the environment also tend to be sidelined by or underrepresented in mainstream media, and I think it's important to get these ideas out there � get people thinking, open up a dialogue�"
