Inbox(1) ~Metal Hearts~

Their My Space profile claims they are a 102-year old female living in Baltimore. I don't think this is entirely accurate. I do believe they live in Baltimore, so that can't be argued. However, judging from their photo below, I think it's safe to say they are 100% male, or maybe hideous women (no offense to hideous women, or maybe no offense to the Metal Hearts if you really are hideous women). And finally, 102-years old? Even if you combined their ages, those sweet looking faces look to young to be anywhere above 30. So, perhaps we can dig deeper into their true identity with our Inbox questions...

Name: Metal Hearts (Flora Wolpert Checknoff, Anar Badalov, Sam Leiber)

Your defining feature/quirk?

Flora- Anxiety/shyness

Anar- My non-funny old man humor.

Sam- An uncanny sweet tooth. Loves the root beer. The nicest and most charming person in the world according to anyone who meets him.

Your recent work of genius?

The new songs we've been recording for the next Metal Hearts album.

Inspirations/Muses?

Flora- Bad Ass Women.

Anar- Leonard Cohen, Aidan Moffat, Ex-girlfriends.

Sam- Music. (Twin brother was saying 'porn' in the background, though.)

Favourite book and why?

Flora- Cosmicomics by Calvino. It's filled with upside-down worlds, giant moons in the middle of the sea accessible by rowboat and ladder. Beautiful images that make me gasp.

Anar- Jon Krakauer's Into The Wild. It was well written and inspiring. Coming from a pretty strict Russian household, my sister and I weren't really allowed to think in the "live your life as if you might die tomorrow" kind of way, and this book helped me start living by those standards. Maybe it's part of the reason my work is the band now and I'm not in college anymore.
