TOP 3 RECORDS OF 2007

Immaculate MachineFables – (Mint Records)
This release from local favorites Immaculate Machine really puts them on the map and will hopefully take them to international success. Fables contains a plethora of pop hits that can satisfy any mood you are in.

Chrsitine Fellows continues to prove that the album is not dead Chrsitine FellowsNevertheless – (Six Shooter Records)
Chrsitine Fellows continues to prove that the album is not dead. Nevertheless is a wonderful album from start to finish and that is truly the best way to listen to it. Although “The Spinster¹s Almanac” could be a radio hit if more radios play orchestral pop music.

Great Lakes SwimmersOngiara – (Nettwerk Records)
Tony Dekker really gels with the rest of his band on this release. Ongiara contains the brilliant songwriting found on all the Great Lakes Swimmers releases but upon them with Arcade Fire
Arcade Fire
a more refined sound.

MOST UNDER-RATED RECORDS OF 2007

Arcade FireNeon Bible – (Merge Records)
I bought this album along with the hordes and helped give it one of the best release dates for an indie Canadian band in a long time. Unfortunately I don’t play it as much as Funeral and I only heard one single on the mainstream radio. Coupled with touring everywhere except Canada and Neon Bible and Arcade Fire win for most overrated record of the year.
