Kranky ( http://www.kranky.net/ )
Clear Horizon is the result of two years of tape trading across the Atlantic ocean between Jessica Bailiff and David Pierce. Two outstanding artists making some of the most fuzziest white noise fluff mixed with folky dreamy textures. Jessica and David both play guitar, keys and provide layered vocals on this drone rock release. For me, this release was fantastic. Not only because the mastermind of Flying Saucer attack is featured (I am someone who has been a huge fan of FSA for years, I have every album and live recording of this project that is available) but because this release is like the most perfect blend of everything I enjoy in dream rock music. It has the fuzz, the integrity of noise, lullabye-esque vocals with hints of pain and heartache and lingering feedback swoops and swirls that provides the perfect atmospheres for being with someone you love in the country parked on the side of the road while enjoying the first snow-fall at night-time. Few artists can achieve the perfect balance of noise and love. Three cheers for Jessica and David as they have achieved this on this release.
