Silent Your Body is Endless
Self-Released

Khora is the alter ego of Toronto-based composer and musician Matthew Ramolo. Silent Your Body is Endless isn't an album meant to be digested as individual songs, but as a sprawling, droning whole. While the album is divided into six “songs” in three suites (divided into Measuring, Spin and Cut), this is not an album that fits nicely into an iPod shuffle sequence. Khora delves into spaces familiar to fans of Brian Eno, Iannis Xenakis or Pan sonic, creating dense ambient soundscapes that flicker and pulse on the edge of your consciousness. The music is subtle enough that you almost forget it's on, until a bristle of noise jolts you back into reality. The best tracks, if you can divide this album into tracks, are track 3, “Natura Naturans”, which is just abrasive enough to keep your attention, but ambient enough to relax you at the same time, and the last track, the sprawling 16-minute “One is the Other”, the length well suited to this type of music. This is an album to stick into your player, hit repeat, bliss out and then get some serious work done.
