If you’ve had the pleasure of seeing Miguel Migs perform you’ll know where he harnesses his inspirations from people and music to motivate his own productions. If Those Things wasn’t enough he came back with an equally quality set of remixes to accompany those original tracks. Some of the greater vocalists reappear with certain flair like no other. Tim Fuller and Lisa Shaw’s names are known throughout the house community having sung and also released great songs. Fred Ross is also recognized for his influential music in Sly and the Family Stone. J-Boogie also is another familiar name with a remix on here. He takes Shake It Up, one of my personal favorites and adds a sassy horn section a la Gloria Estefan. The electro baseline drives the rhythm and causes some serious booty shaking action. With several other great producers doing top notch remixes here it’s no wonder Miguel Migs has accomplished so much since 1989. His Petalpusher alias is by far his greatest work spanning so many 12” singles on Naked. With that energy and knowledge from past years he began Salted in 2004 and hasn’t had time to reflect but to only move on forward with no hesitations knowing that more good house music on the way.
