Led by reed player Jay Hay (tenor & alto sax, bass clarinet), fresh ideas overflow at every turn, from subtle abstraction to spastic explosion. Think middle-of-the-road. Okay, now think opposite of that. Jay and bandmates Dan Gaucher (drums & percussion) and Aaron Lumley (acoustic bass) have expanded their expressive comfort zones to include the far reaches of tonality, timbre and rhythm.
