Mark Browning
Mark Browning will be remembered as a Canadian treasure twenty or thirty years from now. Im so sure of this that if I had a left testicle, it would be up on the table as my wager. As frontman for campus chart-topping band Ox, Browning creates music that could fit easily alongside some classic Crazy Horse on a mix tape for the road. Whatever or whoever is in the Ox collective at the time, they always kick ass and sound like a million free beers. And Mark is always at the helm, molding the sound into a delicious lo-fi indie folk art cow punk rock pie...hahahahaha...

Name: Mark Browning. Some folks call me "Ox" which is ok, as long as they dont call me on my cell phone, cause i don't know how to use it... damndest thing.

Your defining feature/quirk: I'm a shape-shifter. You can go to our website (www.oxmusic.ws) and see for yourself. Oh, and i'm foul-mouthed as fuck. Seriously, just like a sailor.

Your recent work of genius: It will be a point of contention but, in my own mind... an epic tale of grease-ball sunset-strip cruising, which on a dare, includes the word 'FAG' in a lyric...a word which i think needs to come back in a big way.

Inspirations/Muses: I've love to say something sophisticated and enlightened but... honestly, girls and Alice Cooper records.

Favorite book and why: I like trashy shit novels... involving aliens or super heavy duty disasters like epic plaques and armageddon-esque comets hitting the earth's surface. Like, BIBLICAL man. for me they're all like trash though so i couldn't narrow it down to one- in fact, cant even remember a title to give you- they're like toilet paper: i just wipe my ass with them and move on. I have an intellectual side though... history textbook type stuff... Fingerprints of the Gods by Graham Hancock was cool- his thesis is that an earl ier civilization existed before the Mesopotamians & Egyptians- like back to 10,000+BCE -built the great pyramid and sphinx... and that Canada used to be the north pole... gets into precession 'age of aquarius' shit. Real wacko mind boggle- has me totally convinced.

Favorite album and why: Kingsway's Kingsway . It's another of our producer Chôn's projects from a year or so ago... while i was making Dust Bowl Revival they were working on it so, i'd come round the studio and here it progressing... it inspired some of the stuff on dust bowl- songs like Stolen Car for example. It's taken me until last month to get my hands on it... Transiberian put it out. It's just right up my alley, so to speak.
