Lino D'Intino- CFMU 93.3 FM in Hamilton

The Seventies were the hey-day of psychedelic and progressive rock music. Although he's been in and out of radio a couple of times since then, that's still the kind of music Lino D'Intino loves. Thirty years after his first show at Radio Brock as a student at St Catharines' Brock University, he's still going strong with a new show at McMaster University's CFMU in Hamilton every Friday morning at 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST. His first gig lasted for three years and gave him a chance to play all the avant-garde music of the time. The station wasn't on the air back then and was soon shut down by the Brock student union, but the experience made a big impression on young Lino.

When Radio Brock was revived as CFBU 103.7FM in 1997, this time as a licensed FM broadcaster, he was eager to get back in the game. "I was so excited, I could barely wait for the chance to get up there and see if it was possible. It was a bit trying at the beginning...and I understood why...a 40 year old walks in to a campus radio station looking for a show. I don't think they knew how to take it at first. Once I started doing the show, more interest started coming out from the management and such, in regards to my history at the station. Everybody opened up and I started feeling at home at Radio Brock again.� Lino's show was called Flashback Radio Brock and he stayed true to the format he did back in the 70s. When the station was shut down again by the Brock student union in 2002, Lino moved his show to CFMU Radio at McMaster in Hamilton His new show The Waiting Room was welcomed with open arms. The show takes a comprehensive approach to progressive music and all its sub-genres...Symphonic, Canterbury, Space, Zeuhl, Fusion, Avant-garde, Electronic, Krautrock and Rock in Opposition.
