Half-eaten Guitar tests you from the outset with ?Sigill,? an immediately unsettling, eleven-minute undulation of acoustic guitar that rolls up out of the abyss, black like the Mines of Moria (to use a highly nerdy but properly creepy reference). If you?re still aboard after that, you?re likely to enjoy Colin Bergh?s strange mixture of acoustic folk, dreamy psyche, and unnerving black-metal-derived chord progressions. Bergh recently called it ?music the Blair Witch would listen to? which isn?t far off; otherworldly and haunting, Half-eaten Guitar is as much a mood as it is music, culminating in ?Air-Conditioning,? the first point at which the electricity comes on and you can hear, in a more obvious manner, the metal roots of the music. Right at home on Bluefog, along with the likes of Elevator and the Unintended.
