From the opening chords of acoustic guitar, you can picture this band, playing in a circle around a firepit. It seems like most people who pick up a guitar think they can make something unique and interesting from it. These guys play some run of the mill acoustic rock, but don't break much in the way of new ground. I have no idea what kind of musical background Jane's Party has, other than knowing they are four friends from York University who decided to form a band, but they have the “guy playing an acoustic guitar for his friends” vibe all over them. Plus, their influences are the type that every fratboy college guy with a guitar have (Dave Matthews, Sublime, Weezer...). One gets a sense they just recorded these songs for their friends to hear, but somehow the album got released to the public anyway. Totally forgetable.
